We are a group of ministers and elders within the Presbyterian Church in Ireland who are convinced of the importance of Biblical Church Leadership.
We believe that the Lord, in His word, teaches that only suitably qualified men should be ordained as ministers and elders. Therefore, His people ought to respond in humility and obedience to what He has said – just as we should in all areas of the Christian life.
We are committed to working within the law and courts of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, but we also think it is important that we discuss this issue and provide resources for others to both learn about and engage with the issue.
The debate around who should be ordained is often seen as a controversial one, but it does not need to be. There are many areas of faith and practice where Christians disagree, and we should be free to discuss those issues in an attitude of humility, while showing the grace and love of Christ Jesus, and with a desire to maintain the peace we have in Him – as sinners, we always need the Holy Spirit’s help to do this.
This website is, therefore, a platform to provide access to resources and teaching, mostly on the issue of biblical church leadership.
We hope that within the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, at some point in the future, we will be able to have this debate within the courts of the Church, in a Biblically focused, gracious and loving manner, and above all, in a way that brings glory and honour to the Lord Jesus Christ, the King and Head of the Church.
